Last time I heard of a boxer diesel, Ferdinand Porsche couldn't make it work for the VW prototype... in 1937. Let's hope technology has advanced enough to do it. I want one for the ultimate Baja Bug! One tank Ensenada to La Paz!

Well, the oil pan is already under the block (and goes down quite a ways) on the current Subes.

I don't understand how they can get the crankshaft under the block. Ye kinna escape the lawsa Physics, Cap'n!

As a 2.0 diesel, I'd imagine you'd be looking at 130 to 140 hp and maybe 230 to 250 pounds of low end torque or somewhere around there. Sign me up if it ever makes it stateside!
