When the Yugo went on sale back in 1987, it cost $3,990. As we pointed out over the weekend, that's just $8202.89 in 2013 dollars, or about four grand less than the cheapest cars on sale today.
It's amazing how affordable some budget cars of the past were, not to mention budget cars in foreign markets. From early Japanese imports to even earlier cyclecars and runabouts, there has been some seriously cheap transportation options for the carbuying public.
