What's The Worst PR Blunder The Car Industry Has Ever Made?

For some reason, Chevy decided it would be a good idea to run a giant 'Silverado Strong' ad in the home of the Red Sox, aka team 'Boston Strong.' Amazingly, Reddit got that shut down. Surely this isn't the first time a car company's PR team royally screwed up?

What is the worst PR blunder committed by a car company that you can remember? Something that completely blew up in the faces of an automaker and helped bring shame to their products?
