This 11-story building on New York's Governors Island needed to get demolished to make room for a new $75 million park. So they imploded it. Not exploded, imploded.

Yep, that's just about the coolest way to demolish a building possible. The destruction of this brick apartment building (abandoned since 1996) was the first implosion in NYC in over a decade, reported CBS.

The demolition took place on Sunday morning at 7:36 AM with 250 pounds of dynamite.

Here's another angle, just because.

And why not as an infinite-looping gif?
