It's hard not to have a sort of 'lovable loser' affection for the little two-stroke Trabant, with its willing attitude and pressed-wool-and-mucus body. I really like seeing how people used these things for fun once they didn't have to rely on them. It looks like in winter there's all kinds of fun to be had.
First up there is, of course, the joy of using a Trabi like a waterskier uses a motorboat. This run looks pretty short and painful, but I'm sure there were longer ones.
This next one is interesting because it shows how the relationship between East Germans and Trabants was like Native Americans and the buffalo — they used everything.
Even when almost nothing is left of your Trabi, that roof makes a pretty damn good sled. It's like a freaking Giving Tree, that car.
