2015 Subaru WRX: This Is More Of ItS

Here it is, ladies and gentlemen. The car that's coming soon to a rally, track day, autocross event, twisty back road or ditch near you: the 2015 Subaru WRX, arguably the standard-bearer for affordable performance sedans.

It's a strange day when everyone around Jalopnik seems more excited about an oddball, possibly Japan-only wagon than the new 'Rex. Then again, we may all be feeling burned from this car's disappointing transition from concept to production. I do have to say that I'm starting to warm up to it just a little bit.

To recap: 2.0-liter turbo boxer four, 268 horsepower, zero to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds, six-speed manual gearbox or CVT for some weird, unfathomable reason.

It also looks to be a solid improvement over the interior of the outgoing car, which was basically a boring mess of hard plastic. I'm a fan of that flat-bottomed steering wheel and the digital gauges above the center console. Essentially an enhanced version of the Impreza's interior, it's still not super fancy, but it looks like it will get the job done just fine.

I'm eager to get behind the wheel of this new WRX and see if it lives up to the legacy established by its predecessors.

The official reveal should be coming later today at the LA Auto Show. We'll update this post with more live shots then, so check back later.
