Get used to seeing the 2015 Tahoe like this, because one might sneak up on you one day. This is the 2015 Tahoe PPV, which was announced at (you guessed it) SEMA 2013.
It's here where the boxier, '90s-retro profile of the new Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon works in the intimidation factor because this looks much more imposing than the Dodge Durango Special Service or the Ford Explorer Police Interceptor that you're starting to see everywhere these days.
And that's a good thing, because Chevy is bragging that the old Tahoe PPV with agencies for "patrol, first response, tactical, HAZMAT, Border Patrol and K9." In other words, it's pretty popular.
For those coming into contact with a 2015 Tahoe PPV, it'll start appearing early next year in 2WD pursuit, 4WD special service and, later, 4WD pursuit versions. All get the same 5.3-liter V8 with 355 horsepower that's in civilian models, which also includes direct injection and cylinder deactivation to lessen the burden on police/fire department budgets.
