It was supposed to be ready in 1995 instead of a year later, and should sport a Volvo orange paintjob today instead of this brownish one. Oh well.
Koenigsegg’s first running prototype resides in the Motola Motormuseum some 120 miles from Stockholm, but the factory got her back for a photoshoot, along with a bunch of Koenigsegg’s most famous cars. They’ve certainly come a long way since 1996.
The first child is powered by a standard Audi 4.2-liter V8 linked to a six-speed manual gearbox and featured conventional doors as well before Koenigsegg came up with his own very sophisticated design.
After that upgrade, the originally silver car was resprayed black, but since that didn’t really work for Christian, he ordered a few cans of Volvo orange to brighten things up a bit.
