Americans probably view cars like the BMW M235i and VW Golf R as more luxurious and more expensive competitors to the Subaru WRX STI.

Henry Catchpole from EVO takes the STI out to Sweden and calls it a "breath of fresh air" compared to those European cars. He has a point, because they all go about their missions differently. And as we've found out already, the Subaru's latest version may be refined, but it's still a sharp car. When viewed more directly to the Germans, has it finally achieved the balance between speed, handling and everyday usability?
