Yesterday we brought you MotorWeek's 1994 test of the then-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class, which replaced the venerable 190E. I, along with most of you all, like the 190E better, so let's get the MW take on that, shall we?
This clip from MotorWeek '91 highlights the resuscitated 190E 2.3, the "Baby Benz" that sported a 2.3-liter four cylinder engine and a smaller price tag that made it more attainable than so many expensive German luxury machines.
But Mr. Davis seems less than pleased with the 190E in this clip, noting that by the early 90s its design was starting to get a bit long in the tooth.
I actually think the 190E has aged pretty well. Those cassette holders built into the dash? Not so much.
MotorWeek Theater is our showcase of some of our favorite classic reviews from public television's finest motoring program. How does this video only have 7,013 views on YouTube? It's 190E-xactly what you need to see!
