The 911 GT3 is always my favorite version of the 911. It's lighter and more focused than any of the other cars in the range. Plus, it just looks the part. Leaner, meaner, more aggressive. Now there is a new one and I just saw it in the flesh. The want is strong.

Photos don't really do the 911 GT3 justice. See it in person, and then the details start to jump out. It really is a cohesive work of track monster art.

Under the hood, which is at the back like in every single 911 ever, you now have a direct injection flat six with 475 horsepower and a stratospheric 9,000 RPM redline. That's all sent to the ground through PDK, which isn't a manual transmission.

We've covered it at length and I'm honestly not sad. PDK is wonderful, and this version sounds much wonderfuller.

The GT3 looks great. I... I have to be alone now.
