"It's... It's...
ONE THOUSAND HORSEPOWER!"
I actually hope some of the commenters are proven wrong and then actually end up successfully making this, and that it is every bit as good as they say.

It's not a bad idea. They could send one of the writers on a road-trip.

Really, I really can't. Go do the world a favour and learn English all over again.
07/07/09
P.S. I think that's the first time I've seen you spell something in a very clearly un-American English manner. Where did you grow up? I've been curious for a while now.

As Jalops, we value cars. We value well-wrought cars very highly, and we value modified cars higher yet. To modify a perfectly good automobile to wring better performance, better value, better appeal from it is an investment. Like any financial investment, there is risk that the investment may in fact lose value. If you have any money in mutual funds or stocks, this should have become quite clear to you over the past couple of years.
But unlike financial investments, you can back up and start over with a car. As the builder, you are in complete control of every aspect of the car - up to and including making no changes whatsoever. For Hennessy to offer such weak promise as to merely aim at the stocker's Nurburgring lap time is faint praise for their own product.
As a further example, I'm never reassured when the builder lists a "numbered plaque" on the dash as a feature of their package. One quick trip to Things Remembered will provide you with a numbered plaque.
Nothing in Hennessy's list of work is outside the capability of a talented amateur. To have paid so much money for an eminently capable car, and then spent so much more to achieve what may ultimately be only marginal gains not commensurate with the money paid to acquire them, must dilute the value of the entire investment. In short, the investment loses value.
Now, as to the other responses from my fellow commentators. We are not perfect spellers. There are words that escape me from time to time. My punctuation isn't spot on every time. But let's be honest, from what little sample of your writing we've seen here, it smacks of an education that came to a screeching halt sometime shortly after seventh grade. "There," "they're," and "their" all have different meanings. It's not that hard to keep them straight. It may seem petty to you, but if you look further back into Jalopnik's history - particularly before Facebook members started gaining free access - the quality of writing, in terms of both mechanics and content, was really quite high. It may seem unreasonable to you, but we don't like to see that go away.

Don't give me that "It's the internet! It doesn't matter!" bull poop either. You are still trying to communicate, (I assume) and are failing miserably at it.

"Aluminium not aluminum!"

Can I come visit you and we'll go see a filming of Top Gear in 23 years?
07/08/09
Top Gear filming? You want Clarkson to tell you that you are nowhere near fat enough to be American or something? :)

Back to our last topic: I'm really curious what sort of accent your speech has now. When did you leave Brunei, and what language(s) did you grow up speaking?
07/08/09
I also speak Mandarin, the language of my motherland, but not so well now that it's not been used much besides Chinese drinking parties.
I'm sure I will laugh riotously while you punch Clarkson's nose. And it will be reversed when he turns on me soon thereafter. And James May will say "hello" in his most gentlemanly manner to you.

You have a message, by the way :)

If you look at their website, they claim to be able to tune a Veyron, but I certainly wouldn't trust them with a $1 million+ car.
07/06/09
...also leaves me doubting their durability. Sure, they can deliver a gold-standard built example to Motor Trend, but if most of your customers are just looking to one-up the other guys at the country club there's not a huge impetus to build to the level that an 800hp car really needs to be a serious track machine.
