I don't know if you're trying to reference the C4 Grand Sport, but that color was Admiral Blue not Le Mans. If you weren't then please pay no attention to the crazy Vette guy.
Kudos and a heart-click for admitting to being enough of a Corvette fan to know that.
On the note of heart clicks, whenever I go into my profile, I can't see the heart clicks in the lists of friends/followers. I don't think that it a browser issue, as I have tried Chrome, Safari, IE, and Firefox, but it made no difference.
Has anyone else noticed this?
(And yes, I emailed Pete about it yesterday, even though I don't know if he has any control over that.)
@Fourstring85: Nope, I was referencing Le Mans Blue for a reason and wasn't confusing it with Admiral Blue. But thanks for trying to keep me honest. I'll heart click ya for it.
Not a bad use of creative parts bin mix and matching. Not sure just how exciting a development this really is.
With the dry sump, will the engine be lowered in its subframe? If not, all you'll bet is slightly more reliable oiling, and I hadn't heard that was a problem.
Also, where is the 0.2 seconds saved? At the car wash? At the lease signing ceremony? on my personal Ringtime? Inquiring minds and all.
The fender stripe brings back a memory of my first car, a CJ-7. I bought new "Jeep" stickers to use on the pressed-steel "Joop" that used to appear on the fenders of Jeeps.
However, I thought I would be cool and put the "Jeep" sticker diagonally across the curve of the hood, kinda like the stripes on the C4 Grand Sport.
Phew, for a moment there I thought no one was home at Jalopnik. 8:30 and no new posts was a scary thing.
And more on topic, I could not help but notice the following:
For those that opt to equip their Grand Sport with the six-speed manual transmission, Chevrolet will throw in a dry-sump oiling system, differential cooler and a rear-mounted battery.
As if we needed any further convincing that a proper Corvette needs a manual. The dry sump system alone is worth the extra cost over a base Corvette.
@pauljones: There are a lot of Z06 features included here, is this going to be priced like a Z06? That is the only reason I see why GM would want to move the Z51 to the gransport commemoration, to raise the price! Those wheels are a slight variation of the 370Z wheels, I do like them.
Too bad you can't delete features... And I still want the fastback in place of a hatch!
@Trembler:@elwood: Very true. My guess, though, is that if it is more or less intended to replace the Z51 package, then it should be priced about the same, perhaps a little more. Even so, that is a lot for the money, especially in manual form.

This just makes me want one even less, if that is even possible. Hell, I rather have a Corvair than a Corvette.

Not wrong, just un-American. Possibly even un-Canadian.

That car didn't get me laid once.

Wait, that was Pontiac. Well, I guess it didn't take the Chevy guys long to raid the Pontiac slogan drawer. I wonder who got that good chair.
