I want the car! To bad the number is disconnected and no replys from email! Seriously. If anyone knows where Exactly the car is. I will buy it! Or any other one that looks like it.

Being 1/4 Kentuckian I must remind everyone that Louisville is properly pronounced "Luh'vull" although other pronunciations are accepted as well.

First a shark for meth or crack, now a whale for child support.

What's going to be foisted on the street's buying public next week? A killer whale for a US Presidential bid? You betcha!

@discontinuuity:Dangerous, Banned Technology is a very competitive category. A leafblower supercharger, using its own separate engine won at Stafford.

Most of the Aero mods seem to be counterproductive, and any movement is a product of their flimsiness. Besides, with a top speed of less than 80 mph, you can't produce all that much downforce, no matter what you tried to do. Check the rear spoiler/diffuser on the #27 SAAB.

Best line in the ad: "otherwise perfect 1986 Yugo Cabrio." Yeah, because those were rare and wondrous gems that had no faults or defects or drawbacks or limitations or shortcomings or issues or serious issues. In fact, I think they should use a rating system like that in clinical trials-- AE = adverse event and SAE = serious adverse event (which is also the euphemism for 'death').
This is SAE on top of an AE.

On second thought, I like the idea that the whale needs tires. Is he still running the originals?

@Novaload Misses Murilee: Yea. Fine Italian engine and electrics in a car produced as cheaply as possible by drunk 'Slavs. What could go wrong there?

Disclaimer: I used to own its illigitimate cousin the X-1/9 and loved it for all its faults.

I'd be fascinated to know the full, chemically assisted, train of thought to led to this massive leap of intuition and creativity. When life gives you Yugos, make a whale!

I've never known that there were Yugo convertibles, and the thought of putting a top on seems sort of wrong, in any circumstance. But the fellow deserves a lot of credit for having the inspiration, effort and follow through to pull this off.

But why build Fudgie the Whale, when you could have had Cookie Puss?

@Van Sarockin, rogue trebuchet: Yep, Yugo offered a convertible on the US market beginning in 1988 (the ad states 1986, possibly an error). However, by 1988, sales of Yugos were plummeting because of the ever-spreading bad reputation. I've never seen a Yugo convertible outside of an auto show that I attended in late '88.

I've never heard of Cookie Puss until now, so I did a bit of online checking and...yikes! I'm glad my parents never subjected me to this when I was a small child. This is the sort of thing that would have scarred me for life - well, more scarred than I already am. Those demonic eyes....

I would drive that to school every day, proudly.

People would ask me, "Chris, why do you ride to school in a giant whale?"

And I'll tell them, "It's no whale, it's your mother!" Then I would run away and avoid the rest of the conversation. Thus becoming the whale kid at school.

I'd also probably win best ride in the yearbook.
