This morning, Eddie Alterman was named the new Editor-in-Chief of Car & Driver, Hachette's slightly-tarnished-but-still-storied automotive enthusiast magazine. Interestingly, Hachette insiders tell us Jalopnik's readers helped make this a reality.
In tonight's mini-State of the Union, President Obama said the "nation that invented the automobile cannot walk away from it." Except there's one teensy-tiny problem. We didn't invent the automobile. That would be Karl Benz — in Mannheim, Germany. Just sayin'... [NYT]
