I mean, its signs wouldn't fall over if it was happy, now...

I guess being a redneck in the sticks this is a stupid remark.
Isn't there another way home? Or wherever? If your not going home, then screw it, turn around go home, nothing is that important. I can understand the first pile of cars being stuck but after a period of time people must know hell has broken loose on the bridge, find another way.
Really, it is amazing how people go apeshit when roads are closed or under construction.
"What do I do, How can I deal with it!"
Dang, find another way, plan ahead, plan accordingly. Like I said, perfect excuse to drink if you ask me. Roads out, screw it, another round please.

But I've also spent enough time in large cities to be a little bit terrified of the logistic thread that everything is hanging from. One little screwup--a watermain, a major accident, a sign falling--and potentially a million people are affected.
Occasionally we'll have something like a fuel tanker crash and explode, which means a couple hours of gridlock. But some of the LA/Boston/NY disaster stuff I see, I don't think I could do it. Maybe it's just my perception, but it seems like putting way too much faith in planners, emergency personnel, traffic engineers, cops, etc. Self-sufficience and backup plans seem to go right out the window.
/sorry for veering OT there

I don't understand it. You could take the windshield out, autoclave it, and apply the stickers, and they'd STILL fall off in 6 months.
I guess we know who's buying products made with the world's cheapest glue, besides George Costanza.
