In reply to Toyota Tops Complaints of Unintended Acceleration, Report Says
I react to people who use the phrase "unintended acceleration" the same way I do to those who use "intelligent design." OK; so if your floor mat tries to kill you, that I get. You've identified a mechanism. But that's not what these complaints are. This is the Audi nonsense all over again. I have a message for these people: I'm sorry you mixed up the pedals. Call your insurance carrier.

They winnowed down 6000 complaints to 128 out of hundreds of thousands of vehicles, and then they did a statistical analysis on that data set. How significant are their findings?

@oddfish: No, no, no! If they admit to screwing up, they should get a derisive "dumbass" and be on their way. It's these ridiculous fairy tales about unintended acceleration that should result in punishment.

No one should be surprised by this. It's not as if anyone who buys a Toyota intends to accelerate.

This is a start. Now remove the center cap and paint the exposed portion blood red. Maybe add an Elmer Fudd with a shotgun decal on the rocker panel with something about "Bear Season", cartoon characters might be adding cute back in though.
