OK, somebody needs to go arrest Mr. "CobraScott" -- if that is indeed his real name. He's obviously out of control and dangerous. Once he gets this monster up on its feet, it will be too late.

Not as good as if they'd swapped it into a Volvo 240 or 740, maybe, but I sure wouldn't turn this down.

Hey, CobraScott... LTDScott... sleeper-driving Ford guys... is he keeping a secret from us?

so did the handling of the mustang dramatically fall off a cliff or is that just the viper platform?

"Pushed the firewall back" is right - it looks like the driver can reach out and burn himself on the headers. It shifts the polar moment of inertia further in though, so maybe it's all good.

I just got done counciling a guy against dropping a 427 Cobra into his Opel GT, for the same reason that it's a 1) bastardization of family lines and 2) crazy huge in that chassis.

Maybe it could be done. But shoving the firewall aft will make the already tiny GT cockpit even more laughably small.

As for this GT, though - must see video. Must hear tires screaming in overheated horror.

He had to push the firewall back ten inches ? Why was it so important to use a Mustang?

@Bumblebee: In cases like this, you shouldn't ask, "Why?" but should rather ask the converse, "Why not?"

@SRekauqh: Thanks for setting me straight. I'm not feeling well this Monday morning and allowed my cynical side to get the better of me.

The really unique part about this is that once someone has this much money and know-how, they usually move from beer to champagne.

This guy does the opposite--takes his champagne budget and uses it to craft the perfect beer.

If I had a hankering for a V-10 Mustang, I'd have probably gone with a Ford V-10, but I love unconventional engine swaps, so anything that isn't a SBC or a Windsor, I'm a big fan. Not that I don't dig a good old fashined small block swap too, but I prefer to be different.

@smalleyxb122: I've always had a craving to get an old Ford, then swap in a twin-turbo Triton V10. It's been done a few times, but not as often as the Viper swap. For some reason, I have this compulsion to keep it all in the family. Cross-platform motor swaps just feel... wrong... to me. Dirty, somehow, and not in that good, Murilee-in-leather kind of dirrty.

@Deartháir wishes Wes a happy birthday!: Murilee in leather? Cross-platform swap? I thought those we're book club meetings.
