@theeastbaykid: Also, just a disclaimer, I had this car in high school. As a result, it probably should be taken apart and put back together again (maybe with that 325i motor sitting in my garage), but in the meantime I'm having too much fun driving it. I've had the opportunity to drive a lot of fast cars, but no matter how much horsepower you have, you can never replicate the charm of an old car. The 2002 certainly isn't the only one to have that charm--thankfully, there are now plenty of non marque-specific events to exercise vintage iron of all stripes. Even ones with white wheels.

Beautiful, absolutely beautiful! I would love to have a BMW 2002! Unfortunately, the rust monster would get it pretty quick here in Detroit. So, I am just biding my time until I can get someplace where a 2002 has a shot at living more than a few months.

I love this car. Until I saw it at the California Melee, I had always disliked the later, square-taillight 2002s, but the early bumpers (Nick told me they were "new old stock, from Pick-n-Pull") and the lowered stance make this one look much cleaner than your average Malaise '02. I dig the white Minilite-style wheels, too-- they're a refreshing change from the 14" E30 "bottlecap" alloys that you see on almost every other 2002 nowadays.

I'm getting good at guessing again. This is about as close to an E21 as one can get. It's just a bit more awesome.

Especially with the beer can over the wiper motor.

It's a 2002 tii Touring. Not sure of the year - only saw it one time in the pits at one of our races. It is a Washington car. From a distance, at first glance I thought it was a Sunbeam...

My first true love was a '75 with a Weber and a header. Michigan salt, lack of funds for proper repair and maintenance, and my poor teenage driving skills eventually killed it.
