And the Mountain Bike. Then Nice Price.

And $40K - there's lots of 356's and Alfa's out there that run more than 40K (and they are definitely NOT street legal)! Heck, we'll have 8 grand in a new engine here pretty soon for the 510. The argument that you can't dirve it on the street is BS - it's not being presented as street legal.
I'd like it better at 30-35K - but it does have a nice exclusivity.

...in a sense.
Because I think $40k is probably a fair price for this car, but I can't conceive of a reason I'd buy it. That price would get me a pretty good start on a 'Busa V8-powered Se7en, which would be a whole lot more enjoyable race car, and it would actually be street-legal. If this car has the history and pedigree (I propose we combine those two words to form a new rating system based on the car's actual significance to a museum. History + Pedigree = Hardigree.) is as significant as it appears to be, would you want to drive it? It's not going to be street legal, so you can only drive it on a racetrack, and it's the only one left in the world, so you probably don't really want to actually take it racing. That leaves, what, a merry jaunt around your neighbourhood? The occasional careful lap of some racetrack when you can get in there?
A car with no functional use as a vehicle is not actually a car. Therefore, crackpipe.

History + Pedigree = Hardigree, are you lusting for another COTD?

It can be garaged by Jalops with the space and the ability to do that regionally (nw, Ca, sw, mw, nmw, ne, se, fl) on a rotating basis and your "share" of the car worth equivalent weekend time when the car is in your area, or, if you so choose, to travel to the region where the car is currently.
We all say we want track time and a track car. Here's the way to get it without breaking the bank or someone's legs (or yours if you have a significant other who ISN'T the inflatable or battery-operated variety).
500/commenter. We only need... 800 of us! AND the Judges can't buy the car from us at LeMons if it's not titled in a single name: we ALL would have to agree to sell it to the judges... unless they want to go in on the car, too....
C'mon, Judges... How's THAT for a bribe? Seat time in a proper race vehicle? Think about it...

Actually, come to think of it, the displacement is limited to two liters, right? A 20b three rotor only displaces 19.6 liters... maybe I'll be okay with a swap after all.

Even assuming the pedigree of this car isn't all that outstanding, $40k for a complete vintage racer is not unreasonable. No. Not at all.
Now I just need me some government bailout money.
/Picks up phone, calls Dingle, asks for a "engineerd Racing Bailout Bill of 2009", gets laughed at. Hey, it was worth a try!

What was the best achievment this car ever made, won it titles or had it famous drivers? If not so doing historical races with a car without history seems crackpipe to me, 40.000 U$ is too expensive just to do some hoon.
BTW As your got closer to Rey, do you see any chance we get our preview button back?

Don't know him personally, probably know him by sight. I'm more of a racer first and a race photographer second. Usually have more going getting the car ready for our heat, and then doing the debrief.
