    also, are they going to allow open source programs to run on it? i could seriously go for some zombie-apocalypse biking games......

    Paperboy was one of the coolest arcade games of my teenage years.

    Never got particularly good at it, but still, it was fun.

    @that ain't the way to have fun, son: Atari really had it going on in the late '80s. I think they used the same technology for 720° and STUN Runner. Now, if Honda would build a STUN Runner simulator, I'd pay a dollar for that ride.

    This statement is ignorant.

    I bought my car because of GT4.

    I drove the concept car in the game and fell in love with it. Turns out; less than a year after I discovered it in the game, the car made it to production. I went to the nearest dealership and plunked down a grand for a pre-order and waited 6 months for them to make the car.

    Thank you GT; for inspiring the purchase of a great automobile. #videogames

    I think that they have a point:

    Being able to see and sample just how many kinds of awesome machinery was readily available back in the days must make the average youngster pretty desperate when faced with what manufacturers (and don't forget legislators) offer nowadays.

    Historical fun or current boredom? The fact that one of them is pixellated doesn't seem to change the equation too much. #videogames

    Let's see - no insurance, no fillups, no police (unless you want them, then you can conduct a high-speed getaway with no less than 6 cop cars chasing after you!), no maintenance, and if you wreck it, push the "Reset" button and you're all set. Hmm - you can also eat, drink, type, text, or whatever and no one except for some electrons will get hurt!

    Better? No.
    More fun? Maybe, if you drive something massively underpowered, like a 1973 Mercedes 220D.
    Awesome racing action on the cheap? Definitely! #videogames

    @ozyran: Underpowered is a kind of fun all its own - and the kind that one rarely gets to enjoy in a video game (although I spent a lot of GT2 time in a bone-stock KP82 Toyota Starlet). #videogames

    @Mr.choppers - Delenda Carthago Est: I would tend to agree, except the Benz 220D that I owned would scrub off 20 mph going uphill on the Interstate empty at full throttle.

    Needless to say, that car didn't make it to the Interstate much. #videogames

    @WhisperingBomb: No, you're stuck in the past. Tesla has shipped about 850 Roadsters to customers. Tesla's October newsletter says "custom order today for delivery by Christmas", so the new know-nothing negative armchair criticism is "Tesla must be doomed, they filled almost all their pre-orders and don't have a long waiting list." #videogames

    Bullshit. Just looking at that Mk II Supra makes me want to go buy one. Too bad I'll never find a real one that looks as good as that image (Jesus, it's amazing how lifelike video games have gotten).
