The 2017 Victory Octane is the future of the American cruiser segment, at least if Polaris has anything to say about it. Gone are the days of the same old designs paired with the same old motors. Cruisers can be tough and modern and American, and Victory is pushing their chips all in.
The Victory Ignition Concept is the most exciting thing to happen in the cruiser space, well, since the Indian Scout. The two come from the same company Polaris, who are likely on the cusp of renaissance in the cruiser realm. As a guy who doesn’t really get cruiser, I’m insanely excited.
You remember Brammo, right? The small Oregon-based maker of electric sportbikes got bought by Polaris this year and absorbed into its Victory Motorcycles brand. The good news is that the Brammo Empulse, a bike we once called “the future of hoonage,” is back under the Victory banner.
Your eyes are not deceiving you. The bike above is a Victory. And even more mind-blowing: it’s water-cooled. It’s called Project 156 and it’s one of the best shots at American dominance at this year’s Pikes Peak Hill Climb.
Victory Motorcycles bought long-time electric motorcycle partner Brammo in January. The first fruit of that appears to be participation at next month’s Isle of Man TT Zero race, where the company will be campaigning two de-tuned Brammo Empulse RRs.
It's been less than a month since Polaris acquired electric motorcycle manufacturer Brammo, and the first fruits of that partnership may have been revealed in a trademark filing for the Victory Charger.
