305km/h? That's 185mph, right? For the price I think 200mph should be minimum. I can't get excited with this car, I don't know why. The engine is fantastic there's no doubt, they've been milking it since the DB7, but that package doesn't do it for me. The tacky hood.
@Rock517: Agreed on both counts. The music sucked, and the anti-clockwise tach was bizarre until the moment during the top speed run when the needles were trying to reach each other, but unless the car is going to spend most of its time at 300 km/h, the tack would have been better in a conventional rotation.
@jbownsabmw and Will Work For Fuel: You know, I'd love to see a head to head between this and a 599. I'll drive the Aston if you'll take the Ferrari. We can switch cars between laps.
The louvers are not very pretty, but who cares, what I like is a the idea of having a super sports car with shift stick. Looks like very entertaining to drive.
I think the hood louvers are a viral marketing campaign for the new "V" TV series! I think its telling people to go F themselves in some weird alien language
This and the DBS are pushing the boundaries of elegance, IMO. I'm all for functional scoops and louvers, but it doesn't really seem to fit with the image AM has worked so hard to create.
That certainly wouldn't prevent me from slobbering if someone handed me the keys to one, though. At that point, it would be my mission to make those scoops and louvers absolutely necessary!
@Forgetful: Yeah, but not something that ruins the elegance of an Aston. And, it's a Vantage anyway, just with a V12. They shouldn't have to differentiate it that substantially.
@Leeeeena, a Jalopchick: I agree. Put them on the racing ones, no problem. But this is an amazing GT car so it should look like it belongs in Casino Square in Monte Carlo.
Bond would not approve. Better stick to building better invisibility stuff, Q.
You see, it is great and powerful, but those godawful louvers ruin it. They could have at least painted them the same color as the body. Astons are supposed to look great, and that one detail prevents that.

or even Italian V8s for that mater...

Nothin'. It's pretty much perfect. Now if you'll excuse me, I need a moment alone.

Sidenote: Why the hell did Aston decide to re-invent the tach recently and make it go backward? Very odd looking.

I'd buy this, if only it had just a few more louvers.

At least, from my vantage point it is.
