Better still? The "Ecto Cooler" green color.

The vehicle itself is not a an IS-F, but rather an IS convertible with an IS-F body and twin-turbos. It's unclear at the time which of the IS family's line of engines this particular model will get, but we're holding out for a screaming V8 — otherwise that rollbar isn't going to get much work. Expect to see this vehicle at the next SEMA in non-rendered format. [via TRMTuned]

<![CDATA[Twin-Turbo Lexus IS-F: A Proper Jet Car Substitute]]> Don't think you can convince the owner of the Gilda Ghia to sell his jet car to you? A twin-turbo IS-F tuned by Fox Marketing and Artisan Performance almost sounds the part.

We’ve already reported on this IS-F, created for last year’s SEMA, but the soundtrack is worth another listening. If you care about the car’s full specs, The Lexus Enthusiast knows all.

Hat tip to AlieN.

<![CDATA[2010 Mercedes S63, S65 AMG Leak Logical Details]]> Rumor has it this is the 2010 Mercedes S63 AMG or the S65. Really, it's only the engines that set them apart. There's the ubiquitous 6.2-liter V8 or a fancy 6.0-liter twin turbo V12.

The plain old 2010 Mercedes S-Class was only just unveiled last week during, but purposefully not at, the New York Auto Show. Now, 4wheelsnews brings us these shots, which supposedly show both the S63 and 2010 Mercedes S65 AMG. Mercedes has stated the S63 will make 518 HP, while the much more expensive V12 S65 will produce 604 HP.

Also expect the new S-Class's fancy LED lights and revised interior, here even nicer in Leather-‘n-Carbon AMG trim. Added to that will be the de rigueur beefed-up bodykit. [via CarandDriver]

<![CDATA[Video: Heffner Performance's Lamborghini Twin Turbo Gallardo Spider]]> Yet again, we have a clip of a Twin Turbo Lamborghini Gallardo, but this time it's even more special because this one is a Spider with 850 HP. The driver in this clip exhibits an unnatural affinity for Lamborghini-branded leather, but we think he's allowed, considering he's driving a TT Gallardo Spider. Check out the video to see this chap take the Spider around the blocks, for seven minutes.

<![CDATA[Dodge Tomahawk? Please: "Jagged Edge" For Sale on eBay]]> Remember when the Tomahawk rolled on stage beneath leather-clad Wolfgang Bernhard's posterior? Remember how we all thought Dodge must have had an aneurysm, and the "bitchin'" center of the brain was now running the show? Well, in light of what we have here, Dodge's Viper-powered bike/car mashup looks more like a malaise-era station wagon. It's "Jagged Edge," a one-off motorcycle powered by a twin-turbocharged, 5.3 liter, V12 Jag engine with a single cog driving the rear wheel. Fancy-pants suspension? Nope, it has the front end from a Kawasaki GPZ1100 and a hard tail rear (that means none). Highly engineered thoroughly tested transmission? Ha! It's cobbled together from a cacophony of motorcycle and Land Rover parts. The builder reports 120 mph is as far as he's pushed it, but says there's far more room to roar. Sir, we salute you. <![CDATA[Spy Photos: Twin Turbo BMW 7 Series?]]> 2010-BMW-7-Series.jpgThe kids over at the line that's ever straight over at Edmunds have procured for themselves a couple of photos of the 2010 BMW 7 series. These shots, taken from the Nurburgring reveal what looks to be a twin turbo V8 engine. How do they know? Well, other than the engine bay shot showing off the two big intercoolers, we're not really sure how. Oh — right, photographic evidence probably would be a pretty good tip-off, wouldn't it?

<![CDATA[Volvette: A Volvo 740GL With a Surprise Inside]]>

The first car I bought entirely on my own was a 1985 Volvo 740 GLE. It was equipped with a VW-sourced, 2.4-liter inline-six turbodiesel good for 107 hp and clouds of black smoke. Considering the engine was originally intended as a generator, its reliability is unquestionable. However, it was not a twin-turbocharged, 500+ horsepower, 5.7-liter Corvette engine, as is the powerplant in this particular specimen. Having had college-years experience with our own GL, we're confident saying no piece of the original suspension is still in place. Moreover, we'll add that barring absurd chassis reinforcement, this Vette-powered box will likely twist itself apart in 10,000 miles. Nonetheless, the Volvette is an 11.9-second quarter-mile monster we'd love to park in the driveway, and also smoke unsuspecting Z06s with. [Hat tip to the_Finn_294.]

<![CDATA[Audi Robbed Blind: BMW (Nearly) Sweeps International Engine Awards — Again]]>

What's a normally aspirated 4.2-liter direct-injected 420 horsepower V8 with an 8,250 rpm redline gotta do to get a little respect around here? For the ninth year in a row Engine Technology International Magazine has presented their International Engine of the Year Award. In 2005 BMW took down 6 wins, including the (possibly) coveted International Engine of the Year. In 2006, the Bavarians only managed to win 5 awards (Volkswagen's 1.4-liter twin charger jumped up and bit their ankles in the (maybe) hotly contested 1-liter to 1.4-liter category), but once again, the M5's 5-liter V10 took top honors. Again. This year? Once again BMW took down 6 of the 11 awards, but best engine honors did not go to their mighty V10. Instead, the twin-turbo straight-6 from the 335i took top honors. Remember, even though BMW says the thing only makes 300 horses, that mill actually kicks out 350 hp. Los Jalopers? We'd still rather have the 4.2 out of the RS4. Or the 5.0-liter V8 out of the E39 M5. Cause we're iconoclastic like that.

<![CDATA[Long Island GT: Two Oh Five on Ocean Parkway]]>

In an era where slapping two turbos on a car with 550 horsepower from the factory is considered a pretty good start. And considering we live in a country lacking unrestricted roadways, the results could be felonious. Still, we're not qualified to determine where going 205 mph in a 55 mph zone fits in the penal sphere. Yes, we just said "penal sphere."

<![CDATA[Em Five Madness: The Currency Motorcars M5]]>

And speaking of Dutch masters, Vincent and his gang of millionjars at Autoblog.nl bring us this batshite-mad BMW twin-turbo M5. It's the product of Westlake, California's Currency Motorcars. It's not just some run-of-the-mill tweaker. The super-high-end work includes serious powertrain alterations to unlock upward of 800 horsepower from the V10. The intercooler is a custom job, and the gestalt adds up to a top speed, according to Currency, of 240 mph. As if that figure were not badshite mad enough, it's also gotten $100,000 in interior upgrades - mainly hand-stitched aniline dyed Florida Crocodile, leather and suede. It's an amazing achievement, though somewhere there's a conservationist who will never sleep again.

<![CDATA[Nissan Engineers Tease the Masses: 350Z GT-S Concept]]>

One of our greatest regrets in life was the night when the busty, pro-S&M temptress with the 300ZX Twin Turbo invited us back to her hotel room saying, "I've got a 1.5L of Maker's Mark" and we said no. And while we totally blew it with the world's greatest woman, it's nice to know British Nissan engineers have built a car that would have pleased her. By slapping a centrifugal supercharger onto the already great VQ engine, power climbs from 300 hp to 382 hp, 0-100mph times plummet by 2.5 seconds and the 350Z GT-S looks hoontastic, too. Odds of Carlos building it? On par with us getting our time machine working.
