You would really have to be stupid to download a toolbar because of a parking ticket. Only in North Dakota.

There you go. Just throw all your parking tickets in the glove box of your SL. Don't forget to not tell the police about 'em, though.

Poor people parked and got screwed by a horse cock.

And I thought I was having a rough day...

When I first saw the picture that would become my avatar, I laughed like hell, because it just summed up my general character, feelings, and personality.

Plus, it also allows me to assert that I am Wes's dad.

How did the hacker cover the 25 miles between parked cars so efficiently?

    Tractor? Amish buggy? Pony Express?

@Cognitive Friction: More importantly how do you "hack" something without a computer or any kind of communications infrastructure?

@Jo Schmo *Now with 30% more obscure references: I think deeming them "hackers" in this instance is in reference to the implementation of the virii, and not in using the parking citations to facilitate it.

So Jalopnik's hacking score card is as follows:

Road side safety sign hacking: OK

Fake parking ticked computer hacking: FAIL

    @dopplerd: You catch on good!

Also: please remove "safety" from that sign above. My experience is that there is little to no safety actually involved with those signs; particularly when you consider that in this area, they are usually placed in a high-speed traffic lane with only a couple cones about 10 feet in front of them. In a little car like mine, if I'm following anything bigger than, say, an F150, I'm not going to see that sign until the truck in front of me has wildly jinked into the next lane over.

Someone should shake the guy's hand who created this. Then kick him in the junk. Repeatedly. I have very little tolerance for retards that create adware/spyware/virii.

It does still amaze me how willing people are to download and run completely foreign .exe files though...

@BaconSandwich: I agree. Our office was basically shut down for 3 days this week because someone brought a "polymorphic worm" in on a USB drive. Saying it was an inconvenience would be the understatement of the year. Our IT guys definitely earned their keep, but they also were barely awake by yesterday.

I applaud the hacker's ingenuity, but it would be great if he would use that talent toward a more productive means.

Similar to the "World Series," I didn't know the "world wide web" reached to North Dakota, let alone that there are laterally thinking hackers there.

    Maybe I should visit.
