Brown stripe, convertible, proper Jeep, cheaper to buy than to restore, and this is how I'd restore it.

    Nice Price.

Jeep used to have the best names for engines: Hurricane, Go-Devil, Dauntless, etc. I think we need to bring back this naming convention.

Do you play the Russians or the United States?

Of course, you know the ultimate outcome:

The only winning move is not to play.

Oh, it's a not-very-bad price. Misdemeanor, not felony.

And you can be sure that no one else will be rolling up in the same ride!

that thing would be awesome for a weekend family getaway on the trails! ahhh... i can see the little ones bouncing around in the back, sliding on the vinyl seats. oi gaze back just to see sheer terror on their faces. we hit a bump, two fly out and the third chips her teeth on the back of my skull... good times, good times

@B1663R: FWIW, seatbelts became federally-mandated standard equipment in 1965. If this doesn't have them, be prepared for lots of tickets.

@Mike the Dog will work for a Preview Button!: I think 1968 was the first model year when (front, at least) seatbelts were mandated. The '67 Beetle, as imported to the US, did not have seatbelts as standard equipment.

@dead_elvis: As near as I can tell, 1968 is the year that shoulder belts became mandatory. Reliable information seems to be hard to find.

Price seems a tad steep (though not so much if you convert it to Euros) but it's still way closer to Nice price territory than to booth number two.

Professionally restored by one of the top Jeep restoration houses, Nice Price! What other fully restored 4-5 seat 1969 convertible, with less than 50k miles, could you get for this price?

Is it wrong to think Grand National turbo powertrain swap anytime I hear Buick V-6? I know it probably wouldn't be the best thing for the trail, but it would drop right in.

@P161911 now with M POWER!: I would sell any future children for a GN-powered Jeepster. Besides, this thing's a little too pretty for serious offroad use.

I don't even need the engineerd Fair Market Value (eFMV patent pending) calculation to see this is a Nice Price. You could buy one in rougher shape for a lot less, but by the time you get it into the shape this one appears to be in you'll be out a lot more than 15 large.

It's a good think I don't need the eFMV this morning. I am having some work done on the house and had to move the WHOPR-sized eFMV and ENIAC-sized ePRS units out of their temperature- and humidity-controlled environments.

My junior high school principal, Mr. Nelson Lantz (one of the nicest men I've ever met), rocked a metallic olive green one with white stripes. If a Commando is good enough for a guy named Nelson, it's good enough for me. Nice Price.
