Louisana Traffic Official Fights The Law And The Law's Him

From the department of "do what I say, not what I do" comes this awesome story out of Lafayette, Louisiana playing perfectly into our dislike and mistrust of government nanny bureaucracy. Tony Tramel, the Director of Transportation for Lafayette Consolidated Government, is the chap tasked with monitoring and approving tickets issued by speed cameras. Mr. Tramel was recently caught with a radar detector mounted in the windshield of his personal car. Huh? We're confused. We thought the only reason to install a radar detector is to speed and flaunt the law, which doesn't really make any sense. Couldn't he just trash the camera images of him speeding and be off the hook? Fox guarding the hen house indeed. (Hat tip to Richard!) Man Shoots Big Brother Right in the Traffic Cam

Some people don't like government supervision, and often these people are armed. This might be one of the explanations for why Clifford Clark of Knoxville, Tennessee decided to take three shots at a traffic cam with his .30-06 hunting rifle. The camera has apparently ticketed 6,798 drivers for running the light at I-640 and Broadway Avenue. You'd expect Mr. Clark to be one of those popped, but records indicate he's never been a victim of this camera. More »

Funny story. A California man orders wheels and tires from a popular, mail-order wheel-and-tire house. He has his order sent to a tire shop for fitting and balancing on his VW GTI.
