Speaking of my favorite motor vehicle (and I am incredibly jealous of the lack of rust on your brother in law's trruck), have you considered doing having the 22RE as an Engine of the Day feature? No, it's not sexy, but damn, it seems very jalopworthy (but I'm very biased).
Speaking of indestructible Toyotas, I've been seeing a 2nd generation Corolla sedan (with a Toyoglide!) around town lately. If I can get some pictures without getting stabbed by the owner (it seems to live around the block from where I work, which isn't the friendliest neighborhood), I'll send them in.
I just saw on the way to work, not fifteen minutes ago, the cleanest '80s Hilux I've ever seen. It was badged as a Hilux, too, riding on late-model Tacoma wheels, Wyoming plates... and it had a tree in the back.
@strllng plyr: Pass on the wheels, but that's fucking amazing.
I'm still stalking the few early-'80s Hiluxen 'round these parts. There's a red stepside somewhere (which may/may not be part Jeep) and I followed a FJ60 home today! So much cool stuff, so little on-street parking!
@scottcom36 has Weekday DT's, Weekend OD's: The Communists in Alameda's city government tell me my 130-year-old house is "historically zoned" and I'm not allowed to add towers, Russian onion domes, or a huge rotating neon sign reading "CALIFORNIA ÜBER ALLES" to it.
@Eric N Squires: I'd like to take a moment to point out how glad I am that Jalopnik isn't YouTube. On a whim, I googled "fries at the A&W", and this was a result: "A&W fries are made of mostly potatoe. Mcdonalds fries are only about 20% potatoe lol so of course A&W fries ..."
@Ln th Jlpchck: Oh yeah, I saw that during my tryst with Safari. I should install that when I get home. Although there won't be any comments left after all that.

The tree can't fit inside his yard
To move it will be very hard
He will move it in a truck
It won't fall if he has luck
It won't hit a single wire
It won't set his truck on fire.

Your comments are very smart
This is why you have a heart!

Congratulations, Murilee. I salute you. And your erect wood, which you were holding onto in your brother's bed.

Every time I hear 'The Green Movement', I revert to the doctor part of me.
Yeah, I know I should care about the political dimension. In fact, I do.
But there should really be another name for Greens.
Whenever they say it, I always think this:

Wishing lord I was stoned
I saw a giant pine tree
Looking for a home...

(my family owns a couple of "historic" houses, I know how it goes, pain in the ass to do anything with 'em)
