    Whatever, guys. I still find it absolutely asinine that so many electric cars have been demolished at lease end. It's absurdly wasteful, and there wasn't anything wrong with these cars. Toyota's the only manufacturer that actually did something right in, halfway through crushing them, deciding they'd continue supporting them and allow drivers to keep them.

    @strllng plyr: All the automakers are guilty of crushing EVs at lease end... where GM was really callous about it and Toyota relented and let people keep their vehicles.

    @petersterncan: I want to say Chrysler was better, though? There are still a few TE Vans (or whatever) around, the lead-acid ones, and Ford left a couple Rangers (though only a couple).


    I think the ones that end up offered to corporations tend to be left out in the field, while the automakers know they can fuck with end-users more easily.

    Mama always told me that life was like a box of Lithium Ion batteries. You never know what you're gonna get, how long they'll last, how shallow the charge cycles will become over time, whether they'll hold up to wild temperature swings, or what impact they'll have on the environment during the recycling and disposal phase. Now if you'll excuse me...there's a snake in my CV boot.

    One of the upsides to having a car with limited range is that you rack up fewer miles! If only driven by your employees as an in-city commuter?
