This is an abomination, not because of the way it looks, but because you'll never forget that it is badge engineering of a kind way worse than even GM ever tried.

@HoyaCarLover: Agreed. Not even GM was twisted enough to do a Caddy-badged Chevette or Sprint.

If James Bond had a spunky, comic relief sidekick, he'd totally be driving this.

That is actually a pretty sweet little car. Stretching it ten inches wouldn't hurt either.

This is wrong on eleventy-billion levels. Does this mean we can look forward to a Mini-based Rolls? A VW Fox-based Lambo? A Nano-based Jag?! I weep for the future!

Gentlemen, this is a proud day for Jalopnik.

An enthusiastic-looking British-styled microcar based on a tiny, bouncy Toyota. In pink clay, no less.

And there has been not one joke about the location of Aston's headquarters.

Congratulations. You all get an "A" for the day.

Does anyone realize how few of these they have to put on the streets to offset their carbon/cafe numbers? Every niche manufacturer is going to have to come up with some sort of plan to reduce their averages. So what would you rather have in this world: Aston selling 2000 rebadged iQs, or Porsches selling 200,000 hybrid 4cyl cayennes?

@SpaceWeasel: Porsche shooting the Cayenne and offering a turbo-four Boxster/Cayman might work too.

The only redeeming quality this car has is that (and let me finish here) a bunch of kids in ole blighty are sitting there thinking.. $20K eh.. I could do that.. an ASTON.. i'm getting me one of those.. it'll be awesome.

And for a few years the streets will be filled with all manner of crappy aston, outfitted with carbon fiber lookalike stickers and underglow neons and cut springs.. (your probably thinking just why is this a good thing??)

The good news is just as quickly as they arrived in ole blighty.. they'll disappear.. along with the stupid kids who thought their rebadged toyota was an actual aston and prompty understeered them into the thames.

Anyone still question why I'm on the side of global warming skeptics???

"One day, will the only cars we can buy be built off either a Toyota, a Ford or a Volkswagen"?

Basically, yes. Although the list is probably a bit longer, just ad a Chinese brand, a French brand and Tata.

If some smug bastard buys one of these, and then has the gall to say to me, "It's an Aston Martin", he gets a swift kick in the junk. Immediately.

If it's lacking in power and beauty, it had better have soul coming out of its ass.

Fuck it, it's a Toyota, just tag this as Carpocalypse and we never speak of it again.
