It says do not, under any circumstances, piss off the De-esse.
However, you can achieve the same thing just by hydraulically raising the DS' ride height from the comfort of your drivers seat. And it probably rides better.
@ccc40821: No, it's wackier: custom frame, turbo'ed Nissan engine, Landy body, Citroen suspension (and inboard brakes!), and a Jaguar differential for laughs. It's basically a rolling fever dream.
I can't decide whether it looks more or less like an insect up on those big tires. The front end looks fine but the Citros are just as famous for those tiny rear ends and near-invisible rear wheels--so that rear fender/quarter panel action makes this a Shitroen. Which is a real shame, because the front is totally perfect.
@Novaload: More like an insect, definitely. Except now it's an evil insect that is coming to devour your soul. Why the heck does the front end look so menacing!??! It's freaking me out a bit
@skaycog was here: The sides aren't different, they just aren't photographed from the same angles. The wide rear fenders look all sorts of horrible. The builders should have sourced/made narrower axles.
@Paul Y. can't get in the club; gotta parking lot pimp: You are absolutely right! Thank you. I would have had a sleepless night worrying about the sides of this. ;) I kinda like Citroens, and think they look best stock. Thanks again, Paul Y.
Interestingly, there were some short-wheelbase DS coupes built for rallying, I believe, but they still look bizarre. Some are merely shortened, others have an SM-shaped rear end (and there were some SM mules with DS body parts).
@skaycog was here: I think the DS/ID was a gorgeous car, actually. The SM, too. I think the appeal is mostly, however, in that those cars were so insanely French, in that they were designed and engineered with an air of, "Fuck you, we don't care how complex it is, nor do we care that it looks like a space ship next to a Yank Tank. Genocidal maniacs will buy them anyway."

I love DSes. I love Landcruisers. I do not love both in one vehicle.

I know, or at least know where to find, way too much trivia on a car I've never seen in person.

I've never seen a Citroen in person either. For being a homely car, I like them, for whatever strange reason.
Inquiring minds want to know. Again, thank you.
