    In reply to Ferrari To Top Gear: Stop Using Fake Ferraris
    Just take the body kits off and hoon the MR2s...

    I'd rather watch a car I could actually afford get hooned, and then day dream about doing it myself, its hard for me to mentally place my self in a real super-car.

    @Sportwagons - now with vitamin F: That's a totally different deal. They don't represent him to be a talented entertainer, and the appearance and presentation is so drastically different as to prevent any chance of confusing the two.

    This isn't their only problem. I heard the Campaign for Equal Heights wants Top Gear to start using an actual Dwarf in place of Richard Hammond, and a genuine Politically Incorrect Wookie in place of Jeremy Clarkson.

    In my bleary pre-coffee stupor, I read the URL to the original story as Jive.com.au. I then spent several minutes giggling to myself imagining such a thing.

    So what legal recompense does a company have against something like this? Clearly they should have some sort of defense against their products being represented by fakes (and not explicitly labeled as such), but things like this happen in movies all the time with stunt cars.

    @elwood: Most of the rest of the World does not treat/abuse the legal system like the US and UK. Especially Italy. Asking Top Gear to desist is the Italian way to go about it.

    Where can I buy one of their fake Ferraris? Just to keep Ferrari from telling me to nut up, I would call it a Feryota and tell everyone it's a star of the stage and internet blogs.

    I think the bigger shock would be learning that;

    Clarkson really isn't a pompous ass, and secretly craves eating Sonic and sightseeing in a PT Cruiser around downtown Dallas.

    Hammond is really the brains of the operation.
