The offroad simulator looks cool. I'm on my way to get in line right now.
Ditch work if you are in LA area. Have lunch at Phileppe's, a French Dip of course. Go to the show. Follow up with some cold Bohemias at El Patio on Alvera St. Pure WIN!
@Pessimippopotamus: I played with this at the '07 Tokyo show. I should think that a good many of the featured cars will be out of production by the release date.
BTW, I double-fisted the slot cars and I can tell you the Silver car is the fastest if you can keep it on the track. I was like one-tenth off a lap record.
I don't do well with tests, especially engine ones. My test for you....what kind of engine is this? It is made out of cake. First correct answer gets an imaginary ride in my imaginary car.
@skaycog: It's obviously a 2.5L Chococo engine from Confectionary Motors a new start up in China. It was response to the liquor company that will start to build engines in the near future.
@Mr. M: You are correct, but you are 1 minute behind Ruthless. You need to be a little faster on the image search. ;) But what the heck....we can have a shorter imaginary ride for coming in second.
@skaycog: Total flatlander- LA area resident, so weather doesn't mean much to me (other than when it rains and people here FREAK OUT because it's raining.)
I figured if it was imaginary we'd just time-shift to late summer/mid-spring, or the best driving time in Colorado. :)
@pauljones: An LS is not quite a "Mouse," but it does share the pushrod valvetrain :) My peripheral vision screwed up my ability to guess any of them, as the answers were too easy to read while looking at the pictures :(
@Turboner: True, it is not the original Mouse. But the LS-series engines are evolutions of the Mouse, and hold true to the same small-block, push-rod heritage of the Mouse, which is why GM call them Gen III/IV small blocks.
I subscribed for years. Loved C&D during the golden years of the 1970s. Wish I still had my copy of "Ms. Cancellation." Classic.
Now I refuse to buy a newsstand copy. The magazine has really lost its edge, but the thing that angered me the most were the out-and-out lies that C&D continually spread about global warming science.
I'll pay good money for independent automotive journalism, but not for sleazy propaganda from the oil industry. Let them pay for it.
Damn you, GM. Damn you. Always trying to keep me just interested enough to not abandon your fanboy camp; this time, you do it by putting Lutz back where he belongs: coming up with awesome cars.
But no. I realize that Whitacre is responsible for Lutz' move back to product, but one good deed is not enough to redeem a man of a lifetime of dickheadedness. Keep Lutz in product, ensure that Whitacre's "temporary" status is well and truly temporary, and replace Whitacre with a newer, younger, more forward-thinking CEO, and I will return.
Love,
pauljones, still somewhere over in the Ford encampment.
As much as I love all the V-spec model vehicles slated to be produced, I don't think these niche market vehicles are going to put Government Motors in the black any time soon.
@grzydj: I know. My point is that Bob is better with product development than marketing. There's no cohesive marketing strategy whatsoever with GM and there truly needs to be.

They say Orcas up north rub themselves on stones and rocks on beaches ritually. They say it may be for sexual gratification.

Oh well. I won an IS-F hat that I chucked away in my closet. I guess it's worth something.

The Raptor simulator is fun, and I was doing well up until the last straight, when I hit a bush and spun out (yeah, it felt cheap to me too).

Seriously, though, the only one I knew was #3. I know me a Chevy small-block when I see one.
Let's....1 out of 9....that's right about 12% on this test. I think I failed.

Yes, I know, GM ate all the previous kings.

I've heard "May the Best Car Win" used for Chevy, GMC, and Cadillac, and last time I checked, they were different brands.
Also, don't go advertising a 5-year warranty as the "best in the business" if other automakers stand behind their cars for 10 years.
