I would think there would be better ways to "cast" the studio audience to make it camera-friendly and attractive. What's next: "tickets will only be made available to tall, slender caucasian blondes with cup sizes C and above and good teeth... no visible tattoos..."
It's definitely an off season, but every episode so far has had its great moments. Most of these moments involve driving really nice cars in awesome locations, not the increasingly dubious and inauthentic comedic situations that litter the episodes (And the added 'audience involvement' is getting annoying. Just yell back at them rudely like you usually do, Clarkson!)
It was definitely a treat to see so many Lancias in near-perfect condition (and a couple in not-so-good repair) being driven like they want to be. I think they convinced me that Lancia is one of if not the best manufacturer ever. If only they weren't just re-badged Fiats now...
I wonder if it's coincidence that the the majority of grammar and spelling problems on this page originate from the fingertips of those defending this or claiming it's much ado about nothing.
So have the gay couples find lesbian couples and book the tickets together. I'm pretty sure it's a BBC rule and not a Top Gear rule to have that 50/50 split in their studio audiences. They don't care whether you're gay or straight, they just care how many of you have dicks.
Here's a radical idea... how about an audience made up of enthusiastic fans who want to be there? I mean... WTH - affirmitive action on audience allowance? What next, concerts that have to be 50/50 so it will look better on the DVD?
Funny how calling Jezza a pig isn't an issue. It's called comedy people! Anyone ever seen Jonathan Ross's showon the BBC? The house band is called "Four Poofs and a Piano"... "poof" being slang (slur) for homosexual.
You know, watching many motorcycling events over the years, I've seen GasGas bikes doing trials, hopping boulders and bouncing carefully over tree trunks or stumps. Yet I've never seen one go up Hammond's bum.
No offense to anyone here, but I'm really kind of glad that I missed that episode.
@FTGDWolverineEdition'09: That pic on the right is a poster you can get somewhere. We used to have one on our wall before our roomate moved out :( My wife even liked it :)

Wow... treating everyone equally. How discriminatory!

I guess ignorance clusters in some folks.

So they won't be filming Jeremy or James anymore?

There's not much of this available on the rock we call Earth, however.
