<![CDATA[Fifth Gear Pits EVO X Against Focus RS In Epic Turbocharged Soccer Match]]> Fifth Gear's Tiff Needell and Jason Plato have taken it upon themselves to pit the rally-bred AWD Mitsubishi Evo X against the brand-spanking-new, touring car-inspired FWD Ford Focus RS in an epic turbocharged game of soccer.

With a 5-second penalty awarded for a missed goal, which of these two very different, precision machines will cover the course the fastest?

<![CDATA[Tiff Needell Teases Us With Bugatti Veyron Convertible In New Fifth Gear Episode?]]>
Although not as hot as our fave motoring show, Fifth Gear's still a damn sight better than anything we've got over here on this side of the pond. Case in point would be Tiff Needell's tour of the Bugatti plant in the newest episode of the #2 UK driving show. No US show would ever have the guts to drop into an automaker assembly plant and tease us with shots of some kind of unreleased toy. They normally reserve that for automaking vice-chairmen. The video above taken from the episode gives us a peek at Tiff showing us the front clip of something which folks at FinalGear seem to think is the rumored Bugatti Veyron convertible. The coloring also appears to match the paint job on that "Pegaso Edition" from a while back. Anyone have any thoughts? If you'd like to see the full show, I'm sure there's someplace you can snag a copy.

<![CDATA[Tiff Flogs the GT3 RS]]>

It's no secret that Los Pedran Jalop is not a massive Porsche obsessive. Most of his favorite sons of Ferdinand are racing vehicles, with only the 550 Coupe and 928 to really stoke his passions. But there's something about the new GT3 RS. It's the most immediately soulful road car Porsche has produced since the 928 left the line. A different beast to be sure, but an assured loin-stirrer it is, even to oddball dorks who've always loved 914s and think 912s are rad. It is an undeniable car, and we constantly castigate people who buy mere GT3s for not going full-awesome and waiting for the RS. We do not say this lightly, but the new GT3 RS is simply one of the coolest cars Porsche has ever built. And at a time when German cars are getting consistently more complex, to their own detriment, the latest Rennsport 911 has arrived to restore the mantle of merely essential awesome. As Ferry himself said, "This is why functional designs are so beautiful; so calming." We'd add that they look fabulous in wild-ass-yet-somehow-understated color schemes too. And with that, we hand things over to Mr. Needell to simply race the coked-up snail along Castle Coombe's asphalt straight razor.

<![CDATA[Tiff Needell On the Jaguar XJ220]]>

When we were on the Gumball a month and a half ago, founder Maximillion Cooper showed up driving an XJ220 wrapped in flat black vinyl with gold-wrapped wheels. On one hand, we were flabbergasted, having never actually seen one in real life. We were also rather flummoxed at how cheap the thing seemed. We would have loved to have checked out the twin-turbo, over-200-mph V6 supercar sans covering. Here's a trip back in time, back to when the XJ was still officially the fastest car in the world. Tiff Needell wrings it out.

<![CDATA[A Few of Our Favorite Things: Smoke, Supercars and Tiff Needell]]>

If by the 12-second mark this isn't your favorite video then Jalopnik isn't the site for you. Head over to [CENSORED] — they'll have tons of stuff that will float your boat right up your alley. We apologize for the shit soundtrack in advance — why on earth the jokers that pieced this excellent example of all my hopes and dreams big-grin hoonage together felt the need to provide us with anything other than the sounds of the motors is very far beyond us. Maybe they've been reading [CENSORED].

<![CDATA[Audi-O-Phile: Tiff Needell Hangs the R8's Ass Out!!]]>

It's no secret that our favorite V8 is the 4.2 from the RS4. It is also no secret that a dry-sumped version of that engine lives in the back middle of the the Audi R8. So, turn your speakers way up cause Fifth Gear's Tiff wrings its neck around the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. And it sounds absolutely beautiful dazzling pulchritudinous divine. We'd write more, but we're working on a few different get rich quick schemes... for some reason or other.

<![CDATA[The Arena Football of Car TV Shows]]>
Fifth Gear is kind of like the off-season version of Top Gear. Both have that unmistakable British narration, with liberal use of adjectives like "brilliant", "mega", "amazing", and "fantastic". There's plenty of high priced sheet metal, tire smoke, and blatant favortism of British cars. But Fifth Gear doesn't have the jaw-dropping visuals of Top Gear, nor the comic absurdity, nor Hammonds extra-bright teeth. Fifth Gear presenter Vicki Butler-Henderson is much nicer to look at than Clarkson, though, so that's worth something. Plus she can probably drive better than us. Check it out for youself as she and Tiff Needell present the "Best Fast Car" award.
