An eagle-eyed reader in San Diego spotted a Merkur XR4Ti, Cadillac Allante, and Subaru SVX all parked with a film crew in front of his office building. The man in plaid clearly gave them away as Top Gear USA, but what's going on here?

The folks from Top Gear USA have been tasked with the relatively safer task of picking a sporty luxury convertible for an unrevealed celebrity for tonight's episode (9:00 PM EST on HISTORY).

Top Gear USA, the American version of the popular British motoring show, must have been popular enough for HISTORY as Jalopnik just confirmed the network's picking up TGUSA for a second season with hosts Rutledge Wood, Adam Ferrara, and Tanner Foust.

Like we said, the first episode of Top Gear USA sucked. Also like we said, this week's episode, airing tonight at 10/9 central on the History Channel, is significantly better. That's what we think anyway. Tell us your thoughts below.
