I just had a thought... imagine if this car was bought by some western-country-hating middle-eastern oil baron... and he bought it just so he could make a youtube video of it being crushed...
@petersterncan: That would be the perfect ending. Such a bodhisattva or sufi would liberate many from their earthly bondage by carnal automotive desire. Namaste'.
I've seen a lot of car's in my day, but this one has all the thing's that makes gearhead's like me tick. I'll never have the dollar's to afford one, but I can still think about owning one in my dream's. [/ex copy editor]
I need this, a 300 SLR and a D-type Jag. I'll put them all on display, running, in my living room. People can stop by to ogle them, and to goose the throttle, if you're nice.
I'm betting this goes for 12 million US, so I'll need to throw some junk up on ebay so I'll have enough scratch to my bid on.
This just means the 330TRI/LM sold for $9.275 mil last year is now worth far more than $10 mil. B/c as nice as the presentation of this beautiful car is, it's second fiddle the last front-engined car to win Le Mans.

But this is one of those cars that people have irrational emotions about.
I can understand that. Sometimes you gotta ride that train.
