Tesla Roadster Sport: More Charge For More Change

For $128,500, I could buy one of these and still have enough left over pay off some local priests to keep it fueled with the dead bodies of uncooperative choirboys.

I think this Tesla is sort of stunning in an innovative, F1RST!!! kind of way. It's only because it's so shocking to see an electric car go so fast. But as a practical proposition, I can think of quite a number of better cars that can give you more thrills and more space and more elegance for probably less coin, all of which you can take delivery of, much earlier.

By the time it gets down to 30k or so, how crappy will it be? Or do they plan to stay in the high end?
Puzzling.

The Roadster is an interesting exercise, but as a true sports car it fails b/c of the heavy battery pack, which wreaks havoc with its moments of inertia. That's nothing to say of the eventual cathodic failure and battery replacement cost.
If the batteries improve, it could be a different story, but where Tesla really needs to go, and quickly, is to a 4-door sedan that could conceivably serve as a commuter. That's a car that doesn't need to handle like a Lotus.

Think I'd rather get an Elise and convert it to run CNG. Plus it would handle better than a grocery cart.

Performance will be awesome, but in an biune way. You can look at it and lust after it. You can even do some playing with it, but you can never go all the way.
I guess that makes Elon Musk like George Rapp.

My four-year-old nephew tried to stick himself in an electrical socket in the garage the other day. Thankfully, it was an old socket that wasn't even connected to anything, but still...kids these days...
