    So basically all of the promises and new model announcements and weekly press releases are posturing to get tax dollars from DOE? And it might be working?

    I hope it's a success,it'd be great for non-car enthusiasts so the rest of us can have more fuel for our driving pleasure. I still think it's in danger of being a huge flop,but only time will tell. Obviously after the TG breakdowns it's hard to fault Tesla without them chucking their toys out of the pram,so i hope for their customers sake they get it right.

    This has to be one of the best Ponzi schemes to come along in a while. Bernie Madoff could learn a few things from this Elon Musk guy.

    @leavethegun-takethecannoli: The best Ponzi scheme was Florida realtors selling houses to investors but with no one to live in them. Sometimes, they sold two houses on the same block to one investor.

    @BLS: Um, I think Bernie Madoff still has "the best Ponzi scheme" locked up. Tesla is dealing with mere hundreds of millions. You have to multiply anything Tesla is doing by at least a factor of 10 to get into Madoff territory!
