Camry, Avalon, ES350, IS350.
Or, if you prefer to look at SUV/Cross-over segment: RAV4, Venza, Highlander, RX350.
The Fusion and the Taurus actually make sense--Focus, Fusion, Taurus. Small, medium, large.

It's not much different than what VAG does with platform sharing between VW, Audi, Skoda and SEAT.
Toyota does this a little differently as they do not have the number of brands to supply models for. The Camry, Avalon, Highlander and Sienna are all basically the same underneath, as is the Lexus ES350 and RX350. That makes 6 separate car models with the same engineered underpinnings, engines, transmissions, etc.

WE MUST HAVE THE TAURUS SO WE CAN HAVE THE SHO.

AWD is definite plus. It will have a trick engine like the original, but won't look nearly as sexy underneath a plastic cover.
There are some notable similarities with the original. The slushbox, the 140 MPH speedo, unnecessary tach and "temp" gauge. The little spoiler on the trunk lid, the trick engine, dual exhaust pipes. Will it have the sexy SHO imprints on the body kit?
How will the seats fare? Almost everyone I know who sat in the originals say they were the most comfortable they've ever sat in.
I sure hope the accessories are of better build quality than the last one (3 alternators, 3 starters, 2 batteries in 4 years)! Crank position sensor, water pump, etc.
Oh, and the TRANSMISSION!!! It probably will easily handle the high power/torque of the echoboot. A bit scary for aftermarket power increases though. Shonut could easily get 560 HP out of the old engine. Kept destroying 3rd gear (and late model Cobras ;-) ).
My tastes now are with the smaller and lighter fusion, much closer to the original SHO in dimensions. It's disappointing the 4 banger is the best driving of the new models. I guess like the original SHO, there exists the aftermarket for the brake and suspension upgrades.

Hmmm
If you havent noticed..
Every single vehicle on the road.. is a "lil grocery getter".
From the lowliest of Camaros from 10yrs ago.. to the G8, Vette, Solstice.
Not to mention the largest of grocery driven trashcans, Burban, Tahoe, Expedition, Armada, Seqouia, T/B etc etc.

if this is a real SHO.. not just a graphics/interior package (*cough... MUSTANG EDITIONS.. cough, cough*) then hell yeah.. drop a yamaha special engine in there... or even make it rwd w/something nasty enough under the hood... i'll bite.
