I don't know what's better about this: Koenigsegg buying Saab, or the revelation that Wert sits around watching Swedish TV all day. Yorgdie, vorgdie, vorgdie.
I think it will really help Saab's image to have a high-performance subsidiary. Even if it is going to suck up a lot of their profits, the halo effect on Saab's cars is going to really improve the brand's image. Smart move, Saab.
@sos10: What, a company that has very wealthy backers buying a mass production car company that has a decent world wide dealer network and loyal customer base integrating and sharing technology, bettering the performance of 1 brand and possibly bettering the reliability and technology of the other while bringing the one company back to homeland ownership and instilling a sense of nationalistic pride in the car that has been lacking for the company and country since the departure of the major brands? Yeah, sounds like a terrible idea.
@pj134: You mean a car company that has been loosing money since decades even after the desperate attempt to survive years ago when they decided that Saabs might as well be Opels in disguise?
Yeah, it sounds like an extremely terrible idea to me. It has the word FAIL written all over.
@My A Arm: I almost got killed by one of those damn things at the junkyard. I had never tried to open one, but wanted the turbo from one I found. I pulled on it and it slid forward, and I stared at it a while trying to figure it out. I then kicked it and it sprung up in my face...
