Okay. On the"Hate/Not Terrible/Good/Shell-Ferrari" Scale, all of these commercials get a "Hate" except for the Volkswagen "Big Day" one...which is Shell-Ferrari worthy.

I'm glad to see that the 300ZX is pretty well-represented here. Of course, it doesn't hurt that the 300ZX was freakin' awesome back in the day, and still is.

#10 would have been so much better if they hadn't decided to piss on Led Zeppelin. At the time I didn't think it was so bad, but holy crap - this one looks like it was produced by a 5th grade Computer Technology class in Windows Movie Maker.

Best part of the "Suicidal Robot Dream" video is at the end when YouTube pulls up the Britney Spears Pepsi SB commercial from a few years ago, just before she fell off the tracks.

    Sigh.

Dunno if it was a SuperBowl spot, but the Mustang ad with the cops chasing it was cool:

I don't think this was a Superbowl spot, but I feel compelled to link to this video as long as we're talking about awesome car commercials.

I've got the script for the latest Nissan Spot:

Scene: a lonely windingrainswept highway. Gradually the camera pulls back to show a field of satellite dishes, the SETI installation.

-Flash to a sweeping tachometer with audio of a straining turbo V6.

-Flash back to a computer control station.

Computer Nerd: "Sir! Sir! We're picking up something!"

The screen begins printing random scrolling symbols as scientists gather around.

-Flash to a closeup of the hood of an unknown car. Audio of squealing tires

    Senior Scientist: "What is it?"

Computer Nerd: "I don't know sir, I've never seen anything like it...

-Flash to an aerial of four round taillights disappearing down towards the Satellite Dish field. Audio of revving engine fading

    Senior Scientist "My God...it's...it's..."

-Flash to Computer screen displaying symbols and drawings of a clearly alien species, and then pictures from the Voyager Probe.

    Suddenly the screen flickers.

    Computer Nerd: "What was that?"

Quick cut to frontal shot of the GT-R.

-Flash back to the interior of the SETI station as all the screens go dark and the power fails. People yelling, etc.

-Flash back as the GT-R roars off into the desert.

    Voiceover: "The New Nissan GT-R."

"Transmission problems not covered under warranty."

Congrats on a fantastic list. The Toys ad is one of the best ever. And I love the fact that the list, like Nigel's amp in This is Spinal Tap, goes to ELEVEN.

A couple I thought were underrated:

The VW commercial that starts with two guys throwing stuff up into a tree. Finally a VW--mavbe a GTI--drops to the ground, and one of them says something like, "A little easier on the clutch next time."

Also, I forget what the car was, but the guys getting chased out of the woods after one of them got too friendly with a couple of bear cubs.

@flyingstitch: A great commercial, but unless it was aired during a Superbowl, it is ineligible for this particular list. It should definitely make a list of top car commercials overall.

Maybe it was aired for a Superbowl, but without knowing, I'll have to assume it wasn't included due to eligibility problems.
