Nice Price. A streetable supercar for a steal? Hell yeah!

Look, the S7 may not be the bestest supercar ever built. However, it is one of the few American supercars ever built, it's rare, it's damn fast, and it's not your run of the mill Ferrari or Lambo. Everyone will know that you have money and like speed, and they'll know you aren't a follower. You're a leader!

So, if I had $375,000 laying around that I didn't know what to do with, I would definitely buy this thing. It may not be the smartest investment, but it's way cooler than a few shares in Berkshire Hathaway...and just as safe.

Unless you were investing Mob money, but that's a whole 'nother story.

I think I remember that about the only styling requirement for this car was that it should have more vents and scoops than any other car on the road. This isn't the first car that I would blow $375K on, but it isn't on the very bottom of the list either. $375k is getting close to F-40 money.

Deff Nice Price. I always thought this car looked amazing and to find a twin turbo version for less than sticker is amazing if I had the money. Personally, If I were the owner though, I would get rid of that G55 in the Garage and get a normal SUV instead (if I really needed the room) and keep the S7.

Saying Crack Pipe is unfair because the car is definetly worth it.But it isn't cheap either, so I say nice price.

As something I'd pay real money for and drive on public roads the Ford GT is the clear winner.

Still, in the pits at Lime Rock having stood next to the man who designed his own race as has been done by greats before him I can only say "nice price".

It wouldn't be my first choice for a supercar, nor even my first choice for an American supercar, but if a Saleen S7 is what you want, $375k is a hell of a deal.

More rare than a still running Yugo, and at least $367,000 more desirable.

It's a nice price, to be sure, but it's still just a bit out of my (4 figure) price range.

With todays options in the super car market, one only need to look to a name brand Chevrolet to get everything this car has to offer for less than half the price in ZR1 and as long as the ZR1 is out there ground pounding, nothing else appeals to me.

    Crack Pipe.

@Prawo Jazdy and The Velocity Trumpets: I'm going with "Sure, why not" If I had $375,000 to burn on a car and I had nothing better to do and there was room in my enormous garage with all my other fine automobiles I'd be on this like a tick on a German Shorthair.

None of things exist (except the German Shorthair) but what the hell...

@Prawo Jazdy and The Velocity Trumpets: I would agree strictly on practical terms - the ZR1 would be a much better value. However, the air gets pretty thin up here in the automotive stratosphere and judgment becomes cloudy. For rarity, sheer badness, and a decent discount from the new price of $550,000+, I call Nice Price for the S7.

@Prawo Jazdy and The Velocity Trumpets: The ZR1 argument is compelling, but the problem is it can apply equally to just about any super/hypercar, new or used. The idea that one shouldn't buy e.g. a Murcielago for more than twice the price of a ZR1 is countered by the fact that Murcielago buyers do indeed make that choice. There's nothing rational about buying a Saleen S7, Murcielago, F430 or even a ZR1. They are all 6 figure toys. Half or twice a crazy price is still a crazy price - all that really matters is what people in that price range want and what they're willing to pay for it. Many of them want something other than a ZR1, for whatever reason.

I say nice price. (Though I'd also rather buy a ZR1, FWIW.)

@erverybody: If the world were a chocolate train with a monkey conductor that farts lollipops, I too would buy the S7 as I would already have a ZR1 in my garage so I need to compliment that with what I am sure is a fine machine.

But I just can't justify that kind of money to go out and wrap it around a tree. Which I am sure I would do the first time I hand my beer to one of you guys and say "watch this."

A hefty step toward cars-as-art, perhaps. If this becomes a trend we could see some fascinating designs, and perhaps novel engineering.

Gentlemen (and ladies), you have just witnessed my goal in life. To become the next Castriota. I'm not joking.

Also, if I remember correctly he also did the Maserati Birdcage concept. Birdcage = sex on wheels. With that and P4/5 on his resume, I predict this will be one wicked car.
