If I had a Koenigsegg, the door styling would not bother me because:
A) I would never want to get out of it
B) I'm rich enough to replace dinged doors
C) I will be exiting the car via the Jaws of Life.
"Refer to it by anything other than a dihedral synchro-helix actuation system and Mr. von Koenigsegg, pictured above, will pummel you into linguistic submission with a carbon fiber reindeer femur."
I believe I've declared to do the same thing previously on Jalopnik.
Stupid, unnecessarily dangerous door opening system. But mostly stupid. Stupid, that's it. If I were part of the Saab R&D, I wouldn't sleep anymore, just wondering about the crazy things they could ask me to do...
@FantozziUgo: This insane 3 piece door mechanism was developed while SAAB was under GM ownership. How crazier do you think they can get with this guy at the lead?
That guy that opened and then closed the door did it a very arrogant and pretentious manner. Sort of like when you see someone drink wine or tea with their pinkie sticking out.
@Flathead Smith: he wasn't arrogant, he's a saleman, he was just happy to touch the dag on thing. I mean, he could have easily been selling Kias. ...*shudder*
You know, I remember way back when I was a teen going to the Car Show in little Harrisburg, PA. And at this particular show they had the original AM General Hummer in several formats. I remember climbing into it, looking around it, peering under the hood... and it was there that I spotted a sticker. On top of the engine it stated simply "NOT A STEP".
That's a way cooler warning to have to display than this'n. Now, if they had put a warning sticker about top-heavy babes falling into your window while having a conversation... that would have topped the Hummer.

Just curious. It seems to me that the hinges of a door like this would be under greater strain than the ordinary hinges of an ordinary car door, so they'd have to be bigger than conventional door hinges. In addition you'll need some kind of hydraulic razzmatazz to keep the car door from swinging down and bopping you on the head as you get out of the car.
So wouldn't doors like this would weigh more than ordinary car doors? This is no problem for the kind of nitwits who put scissors doors - I mean "dihedral syncho-helix systems" - on a bloated garbage truck like an Escalade, but why in Hell would a super-car manufacturer ever put heavier components where lighter ones would suffice?
Incidentally, though this has nothing to do with cars per se, so far as I know "door hinge" is the only common English phrase that rhymes with "orange."
@wkiernan: I believe Koenigsegg has stated that he had to put the dihedral synchro-helix actuation doors to give the CC a unique identity. And he also said that it was the hardest part on the car to conceive and engineer.
@wkiernan: I'm probably missing the point (conspicuous consumption), but those doors seem ridiculously over-engineered. Surely butterfly doors would've sufficed?
I haven't had the least bit of trouble with this in my CCX. Of course there really isn't a parking and vehicle egress element to Need for Speed:Shift but if EA adds a parking mini-game I'll be sure to be on the lookout.

@snapoversteer 'bout to get told: The so-called "Top Gear" wings existed since the 90's.
As for the spoiler in the video, yes. They are new since the CCXR.
