It's a good thing Photoshop didn't exist when I was a kid, because if it had, these images would have blown my fragile five-year old mind. Cedric Delsaux adds Star Wars characters to otherwise mundane cityscapes, highlighting their alien nature and in the process combining my two biggest adult childhood obsessions: cars and Stormtroopers. The only thing more, you know, Jalopnik would be if he'd included either a DAF or a FAF. Still, an Imp isn't too shabby.

<![CDATA[ 1977 Dodge Tradesman Van Has Star Wars Mural, Geek Love ]]> This 1977 Dodge Tradesman200 van represents years' worth of lonely Saturday nights filled with geek-love and rightly so. It's adorned with a Star Wars mural fit for a Jedi. The van itself has seen some better days. This ladies-mobile has 100,000 miles on the V8 engine and the inside boasts a poorly-maintained lounging area and mini-bar.

As of posting time, the current bid is at $1,050 and the reserve has already been met. It's located in Akron, OH and can be a project car in no time—as long as you don't touch the paint job. [eBay via BBG]

<![CDATA[ Commenter Of The Day: Biggs Darklighter Edition ]]> While Murilee and Jonny continue to trek towards their mission of TOTAL LeMONS COVERAGE DOMINATION, we're here at the home base scouring the comments for the commenter with the mysterious power known around some parts as "the force," or in France as le force. It's what allows a reader to take a subject worthy of something greater than mere mockery or reflection: allusion. We go way back to the first movie in a series of six movies that was actually the fourth movie.

There was much ire directed towards the aeromodded Civic from earlier today, but there was one clear reference that jumped out at us as appropriate and hilarious. From FatBraff:

Uncle Owen... Can I take the Aerocivic over to Toshi Station to pick up some Power Converters?
We agree this ride looks like the land speeder from A New Hope, maybe crossed with Imperial Landing Craft? ]]>

<![CDATA[ But Will it Fly? X-Wing Fighter Madness in the Desert ]]> If you don't have a girlfriend, you know it as the Incom T-65. Else, it's the X-Wing Starfighter, pride of the Rebel Alliance's strike fleet. Here's the backstory. A gang of aerospace hobbyists created a workable model of the X-Wing out of plywood, fiberglassed foam and whatnot. Then they hooked it up with booster rockets and RC gear, and hauled it out the desert, where they proceeded to send it on its maiden voyage. You have no idea how hard it is not to give away the ending. [Gizmodo]

<![CDATA[ What Would Chewbacca Drive? ]]>

Another great question from a presumably great reader named Alex A. Have a read:

In regards to the post on the GNX and the overwrought use of "Darth Vader" as potential owner to many a sinister blacked out ride, my question is: what would the other Star Wars characters drive? Because Han would totally drive a 455 equipped GMC motor home, your worship.
Brillaint, though we see Han in an E63 AMG Wagon with a bald front tire and rust. Lots and lots of rust. Still, the question rules. Have at it.

<![CDATA[ Car Wars: Parking an AT-AT at the Mall ]]>

First of all, we had no idea the All Terrain Armored Transport (AT-AT) had a Powerstroke diesel. That's pretty impressive. Nonetheless, trying to maneuver an Imperial walker out of a mall parking lot takes the kind of finesse even the Empire's elite armor assault crews aren't trained for. Then again, this guy shouldn't be trying to go it alone — that's what a crew is for. But, as written in the StarWars.com databank, "AT-AT pilot training stresses their importance, and successful soldiers are often convinced of their invincibility, making them insufferably arrogant to the frontline grunts." Yeah, that's probably it. [Thanks to Mike for the tip.]

Holy hell, we thought we'd seen it all. We were wrong. It turns out the Honda Del Sol can not only be customized — it also can be retrofitted with a hyperspace drive, an R2 unit and some various assorted and sundry post-Clone War tech goodies. Chewie'd be proud. Of course we'll need Chewie — and a good hydrospanner (not the cheap-o Black and Decker variety) — cause apparently this little customized nerf-herder was smacked up by its owner real good. But we want to see this bad boy hitting the mean streets of Mos Eisley pronto — so hit that link below and show your love to a lover of the el-camino / Star Wars hybrid customizations (the PayPal link is on the left hand side of the page) — and may the force be with you friend, always. <![CDATA[ Ford Focus--Based Landspeeder Replica for Sale on eBay ]]>

To those of you enjoying a holiday in Southwest England, might we recommend Royal Crescent, Poultney Bridge and the Bath Rugby Club? (Tell 'em Nigel sent you.) While you're there, might we further recommend you check out this replica of a Star Wars Landspeeder one local boy currently has up on eBay? It's based on a 1988 Ford Escort, has blue underlighting that reportedly makes it appear airborne, and can be modified to shoot fire. Shoot fire? That alone's worth a trip to Blighty, if not for the fish patties. [Thanks to Alan For the tip.]
