    That's a shame - Why is it that the good (well, decent at least) ones always go first. SCC was always interesting, but I guess Grassroots Motorsports will have to fill the gap.


    And my back issues of Quattroruote will also take away the pain, I'm up to 1975 now... eBay.it, I love you.

    Crap.


    The only car pub I subscribe to is 4Wheel and Offroad. That would be the one of their offroad mags that actually has real tech, DIY features and halfway decent writing.


    Which means it's surely going to get cut in favor of Chrome and Fender Flare Monthly...I mean 4Wheeler.


    Also sucks because I got a good deal on my subscription that runs until like 2010.

    Well, if it's anything like various magazines that have folded during my subscription, they'll substitute with something similar, like Vogue or Women's Wear Daily... I once got GQ to finish out my subscription to some gay fashion rag... pretty good match, come to think of it...!

    Anyone else remember the good old days, when publishers sold unprofitable magazine titles, sometimes in bundles, then let the *new* owners do all the bloodletting? Now they just cut out the middleman and go straight to Chapter 7 liquidation.


    Maybe the displaced journos can go find a nice daily newspaper to write for. Oh, wait...

    SCC staffers were both good to me personally and good to the stupid event that I work for. There is one final issue that will hit the shelves shortly...let's all pick up a copy in hopes of saving those Source Interlinkers that haven't yet gotten the axe.

    3)5.0 Mustang or Modified Mustang or Mustangs & Fast Fords


    4)Super Chevy or High Performance Chevy


    5)Circle Track


    6)Four Wheeler or Four Wheel Drive & Sport Utility or 4-Wheel & Off-Road


    7)Truckin' or Sport Truck or Mini Truckin'


    8)Surfer or Surfing


    9)All but one, maybe two, of their horse magazines


    10)Sport Biker or Super Streetbike


    11)Soap Opera Digest or Soap Opera Weekly


    All of the above overlap each other and/or don't sell enough according to their figures to justify maintaining, meaning that they are all likely to be fair candidates for the guillotine.

    @campionelancia: If any of the above are cut, Motor Trend or Automobile are more likely candidates, as they are owned by the same company, just as (I think, but I could be wrong) Car And Driver and Road And Track are owned by the same company.

    I'm not at all surprised about Truck Trend. It never really seemed to take off, even in the 909 area code, and it was almost always redundant due to the fact that Motor Trend ran more or less the same Truck/SUV related articles. The least they could have done was move the Truck Of The Year award over to Truck Trend, but you know, that might have made sense.

    Bummer, I always thought it was a pretty decent rag. So that leaves us with Turbo & High Tech and that's about it for techy import mags.

    As long as they keep "Sport Sub-Compact Car" at least until they are done with the "Aveo SS superbuild...8 more horses...lots more fun" series is finished in March
