I can hear the Porsche owners shrinkage from here..

You can hate, talk trash, and whatever else, if you claim at all to be any sort of motoring enthusiast.. (and not just some come lately fan boy because you bought a cool car) then 'Godzilla' should at least warrant a slight bit of appreciation.

Man was I fiending for a GT-R post. I don't know how I made it for this long.

The Nissan GT-R: The performance car you are contractually obligated to drive like a Camry, because although it can do a lot of great things, we can't allow you to do them.

I was almost gonna call photo-reversing shenanigans until I saw the instrument panel. The tach appears to be the correct, non-dyslexic version.

When the big light on the hood starts blinking, Ultra-Man needs to get the rubber monsters killed quickly, before he reverts back to his Japanese Crark Kent persona.

So unless this thing has a 'Ring time of less than 1:19 and an Oval Track wing to hold it down in the turns, the play isn't worth the pay.

With no apparent strengthening of the internals or the tranny, this doesn't seem like much of a deal to me. I could drop more weight the redneck way (partially mentions above by syrax). Remapping the ECU, as it has been said, should cost about a grand. I'm not sure how you would enable this overboost, but given the limitations of it, I would also guess that Godzilla doesn't really like the overboost - at least not for very long. I'm not sure if I would want to feed that beast NOS.

For some strange reason, the cars that Americans seem to desire the most are the ones that come from the Wrong Side of WWII: The Axis powers of Japan, Germany and Italy.

And what about those most desirable cars? Well, they tend to hammer our savings accounts into so much dashed dreams. Fabulous power and capacity could be yours, if only you had the shekels to screw the car back together! How much is the new clutch? For that amount of money you could buy a new Versa, which would also come with a new clutch.

And what of those stalwart warriors who laid so much on the line for freedom and the common good, the Allies: USA, Great Britain, France, not to mention so many more. Our products are overlooked with disdain at home, outright horror overseas. We even do it to ourselves. Brits, French and Yanks alike treat each other's products with contempt even while snapping up by the bushel the products that come from the Axis.

Yet another variation on the "Godzilla" GT-R? Yawn. We Americans have considerably more experience and skill at delivering one iteration after another of the same car. It's only a matter of time before we have sport-ute Mustangs and speedboat Corvettes. I will sit back and eat my French toast and drink my English breakfast tea while I wait.

I'm done buying new foreign cars. No amount of added content, horsepower, or flypaper handling can sway me. I'll buy a used Peugeot before I buy a new Japanese car, forever and ever, Amen.

I try to defend the Japanese sports and tuner cars, but they they pull this shit... seriously, what's the point of this car?

The normal GT-R makes sense, it's the car you show up to the track in, let all the Porsche snobs poo-poo you and then throw down laps faster than anything they've ever seen drive in off the street... then just to rub salt into the wound you let them know that it cost half as much as their precious 911 Turbo. It's the people's champ for the nerds of the world, beat 'em with brains (or in this case lots and lots of computer wizardry).

This, you show up, and you get made to look a fool by the guy who paid half as much for his normal GT-R and spent the difference on performance driving schools and track day fees.
