    i seem to remember that the Silverton Hotel was a site for the original film, and this is a promotional tie-in (ie, the owner bought the car to be displayed at the site).


    i also seem to remember that the Pursuit Special is possibly the most badass car ever. yeah. that sounds right.


    btw, has anyone ever gotten a weiand supercharger to be switchable like in the film? all the replica folks seem to use faux blowers with little motors in them to make it look like it's working. that's bogus. i want someone to make it happen for real, complexity of the theoretical clutch arrangement be damned!!!!!

    I just returned from Oz. Down there, it's like a parallel universe where the vehicle market wasn't dictated by eco-nerds, soccer moms, mouth breathers, and douchebags. If you want small and efficient, you've got the Mazda 2. If you want a stylish peoplemover, you've got the Alfa 159 wagon. If you want a car that more American than a real American car, you've got Falcons, Fairlanes, and Statesmans. And if you must have a truck, it's either a Camino-ized version of any number of midsize RWD V8 sedans, or a diesel-powered Japanese warlord-mobile with a snorkel. Where did we as Americans stray from the path?
