I was driving through LA at about 6 pm Pacific when I saw an R8 and then around the bend of the freeway I saw a vehicle which I couldn't place my finger on. I usually identify all cars by the taillights (duh), and I just didn't know what it was.
LA traffic being the female dog that it normally is prevented me from being able to get a closer look at the then mysterious vehicle. But then, the God of cars opened up an entire empty lane on the freeway.
I pull up to what was a convoy of what I thought at the time were SLR's, but the tail looked all wrong to me. Then, I thought, those are f^&^%ing SLS's! As stated before, there were 4, one red, one blue, one silver, one black. There also was an R8 and a brand spanking new SL 63 AMG that was literally struggling to keep pace with these bad boys.
The drivers avoided all eye contact with people who were oggling at their beautiful rides.
I did get a video of them driving by me, but its a bit NSFW because I couldn't get by girlfriend to hold the camera while I was driving since she didn't understand the awesomeness of what was occuring! >:(

I so hope the cloth top makes it to production. I hate the ginormous ass of all hardtop convertibles. A lithe Mercedes sports tourer would be great.

At worst, you can order a second set of seats with the trim you lack, take it to an auto upholsterer, and they would run you up some custom seats. If you can afford the car, you can probably afford to have your own customizing done if you really want. And I bet you might have a spare car to drive while you're waiting for the work to be done.
