I was lucky enough to take the 3 day course at Road America. What a fantastic experience! I was able to directly apply to experience to racing in Lemons, and I fully look forward to applying it elsewhere!
I HIGHLY recommend the class - it was way too fun! And like Wes said, they treat you like adults, not kids.
Personal experience - didn't feel much understeer, but did manage to get myself in the gravel once in the carousel! #jalopnikvsgm
I am really hard pressed to decide who to cheer on. On the one hand, I'm a die hard GM man, and would love for Maximum Bob to give the world a show, but on the other hand I'm a die-hard Jalop fan, and it would be fun to see Bob get trounced by Wes and his ass. I'm torn, I'll have to make a shirt with one half Bob, one half Wes, and just watch the show.
Still, good PR for both parties involved. #jalopnikvsgm

I hate the braking before turning thing they try to teach, drives me absolutely nuts too. If I'm braking, I'm putting more force on the front tires giving more grip on turn in. I understand that the back end is coming unglued, I'll worry about that when it happens. #jalopnikvsgm
" The original Bondurant curriculum did not, to the best of my knowledge, advocate trail-braking, and neither did Skip Barber. They do now, of course. On the street, we don’t trail-brake because such a technique depends on consistent traction conditions." #jalopnikvsgm
Last year I went to a Skip Barber school at Lime Rock, about 45 miles from where I live.
Last month, when I returned to driving school, I went to one about 2,600 miles away from where I live.
Wanna know why I traveled an extra 2,500 miles each way to go back to driving school?
Easy.
Skip Barber sent me out in a Formula car that almost had a front wheel and hub assembly come right off the car during our first lapping session.
Skip's crack mechanics cleared a car that did not have all its front suspension bits attached.
As it was I had to limp back into the pits with the wheel flopping wildly, help in place by a less-than-complete set of links.
(I understand liability and all that, but) No one at Skip Barber ever apologized to me about this.
Not one of the instructors.
Not one of the sales people.
No one in customer service after I mentioned this in the after-class "satisfaction" survey.
No one thought to apologize.
So now I make a point of telling people that I would happily fly six hours for another high performance driving class, but I won't drive an hour and a half for one. #jalopnikvsgm
One of these days I'm going to convince my brother and father to do a Skip Barber course at Road Atlanta. With a little luck, my mother and sister will come too-and I have a horrible feeling about who will be the slowest in the family... #jalopnikvsgm
Full Disclosure: Skip Barber provided me with this racing school free of charge because they really want Bob to lose. Or, Wert's just very nice at asking. Either way.
I bet that Wes's ass and Ray's charm was too hard to resist. And I bet he signed one of these for free. #jalopnikvsgm

The concept behind the traction pie is pretty useful. Great for motorcycle education, actually.

I'm guessing Bob's had a driving lesson or two himself...... #jalopnikvsgm

He's the real deal haha.
I was more joking that they could claim you're a ringer now just to be safe, but I don't see that happening.
I'm jealous of the free class though for sure. #jalopnikvsgm
